What's Going On . . .

Tuesday September 7, 2010
Greetings Friends of Living Stones Fellowship:
Now that Labor Day Weekend has drawn to a close I want to call your attention to three events that I hope and pray will be a part of your life in the month of September-- it's going to be a great month for the Living Stones Family.
  • Worship this Sunday, September 12.  For those of you who weren't at church this past Sunday we did a little "rearranging" of our meeting room and this week we hope to fill the room.  We will be celebrating communion together and we're aiming for 50 people in attendance.  Why?
    • Because that's how many people call "Living Stones Fellowship" their church home.
    • Because there's no more important celebration than the Lord's Supper
    • Because our "new arrangement" allows for a few more seats and we want to fill the room with the sound of God's people worshiping with united voices to the praise of Our Savior.
  • Small Group Start Up Thursday, September 16th.  We will be starting an 8 week series entitled "Just Walk Across the Room".  This study will help us connect with our Savior, with each other, and with our neighbors.  Matthew shares his vision for these groups.  "God is going to use this group to change peoples lives. As we grow together in community, and fellowship with one another God will begin to speak to you in a new way and you will come to know him in a real and loving relationship! So come out and join us on September 16th from 6:30-8:00 at the home of Willie and Becky Ailstock, 120 Lexington Trails, Dry Ridge, 41035.. This is a church-wide small group Bible study session that we encourage every member and guest alike to attend (including youth, grades 6-12). Let's see what God wants to do with LSF and how each of us can be a part of it."
  • Church Picnic, Sunday, September 26th.  Immediately after church everyone is invited to the Wainscott Farm in Corinth for a great afternoon together.  Just ask anyone who attended the picnic a couple years ago and they'll tell you what a fun place this is - with fishing, paddle boats, kid's train, corn hole, games and great food.  Paul Ireland will be providing maps for us -- just get one on any Sunday between now and the 26th.
Well, that's enough for now.  I hope to see each and every one of you this coming Sunday.

Good Monday morning Living Stones Family,
Allow me a moment to follow up on a couple of items from our time together yesterday.  Our time together yesterday was yet another reminder of God's faithfulness to each of us.  I told you I would send you Tammy Wolfe's email address so that you could send her a picture of your family for our upcoming directory.  Her email address is as follows:  fairygrl40@yahoo.com.
If you haven't filled out an information sheet for the directory, please include birthdays and other significant days in your household with the email.  The sooner the better.

Also from yesterday, what a joy it was to pray for Matthew, Tiffany and Addison Ailstock.  We look forward to seeing them soon and rejoice with them over the birth of Addison.  For those who had not heard the news, she was born August 13th at 8:20pm and was 8 lbs. 2.5 oz, and measured at 20 inches long.

I pray that God blesses your week and that you walk in joy over God's faithfulness to you.

Grace and Peace to the Living Stones Family:
Please allow me a moment on this Friday morning to remind you to read Genesis 16 in preparation for worship this Sunday (Galatians 4:21-31 also – if time allows). We will learn what happens when we try to take matters into our own hands in ways that contradict God's revealed Word.  When we fail to act on God's promises we don't receive God's best.

I'm sure you look forward to welcoming Matthew back-- he may be a bit worn out as he arrives home just the day before. Be praying for him during his trip back. Also, be praying for Tiffany as she is dealing with a kidney infection.

I look forward to seeing each of you on Sunday. May God build us into a family that trusts God's promises and sees God work in awesome ways.

John Sheaffer
